摘要:String can be viewed as higher spin, while the latter plays a fundamental role in Atiyah-Singer index theory. Beside physical aspect, there are persistent interests in studying the geometry and topology of string manifolds. In particular, 24 dimensional string manifolds are quite special among them. In this talk, we will discuss the algebraic-topological aspect of 24 dimensional string manifolds, following the work of Hirzebruch, Ochanine, Landweber-Stong, Wall, Mahowald-Hopkins, Chen-Han, and the work of mine joint with Fei Han. We will talk about string cobordism, various index-theoretic genera and some applications.
报告人简介:黄瑞芝,2017年底在新加坡国立大学获数学博士学位,之后在中国科学院数学与系统科学研究院工作至今,目前任副研究员。主要研究代数拓扑及其在流形拓扑、微分几何与数学物理中的应用。研究成果发表论文于Adv. Math., Tran. AMS, J. Lon. Math. Soc., Math. Z.等数学期刊。
