报告摘要：We study an elliptic problem involving critical growth in a strip, satisfying the periodic boundary condition. As a consequence, we prove that the prescribed scalar curvature problem in R^N has solutions which are periodic in some variables, if the scalar curvature K(y) is periodic.

报告人简介：郭玉霞，清华大学数学科学系长聘教授、博士生导师。1999年于北京大学获博士学位，并先后在中国科学院数学与系统科学研究院、葡萄牙里斯本理论物理中心、加拿大Memory University作博士后。曾获得北京大学优秀博士论文、中国科学院王宽诚优秀博士后、德国洪堡基金学者、清华大学优秀博士生导师等荣誉，还曾受邀到意大利、美国、澳大利亚、新加坡等国进行访问交流。2002年世界数学家大会卫星会议邀请报告人。主要研究领域是非线性分析及其在偏微分方程中的应用，现已主持完成国家自然科学基金项目6项，作为主要成员参与重点项目2项，目前主持面上项目1项，在Commun. Pure Appl. Math., J. Differential Equations, Calc. Var. Partial Differential Equations, J. Func. Anal., SIAM J. Contr. Opt., Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., J. Math. Pures Appl.等国际重要学术期刊上发表SCI论文90余篇，其研究成果被很多专家学者广泛引用。
